Supporting the Aid by Trade Foundation Through the Mass Balance System

By choosing products made with cotton sourced under the Mass Balance chain of custody model, your company supports the non-profit Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) in its work to improve conditions in cotton-growing regions, thereby helping farmers and their families build better livelihoods.

The aim of the foundation, which operates independently, is to leverage market forces to enable people to help themselves. In so doing, it improves the living conditions of people in commodity-producing countries, promotes environmental protection as well as animal welfare, and secures the livelihoods of future generations. With the support of various partners from industry, government, research, and NGOs, the foundation focusses on aid by way of trade. More about the foundation.

Why we Decided to Stop using the “Supporting” logo:

Change to the Labelling for Cotton made in Africa Mass Balance

To more clearly meet the requirements for communicating Mass Balance sourcing, we are updating the labelling for Cotton made in Africa Mass Balance. Going forward, the Aid by Trade Foundation logowill be used instead of the CmiA product logo.

This change makes it clearer that the label expresses support for the initiative and the foundation rather than serving as a product seal.
